End of O&G rotation reflection

First of all, how the fck are we already 10 days into the fcking THIRD MONTH of 2024 and 6 weeks of MD3 has already gone and pass. No jokes, just feeling like I know what's up with O&G and already it's time to move onto another rotation πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€ guess there's some continuity in content with neonates technically being under paeds but otherwise all new content and ref ranges to learn 😨😨

But I digress and now back to the actual content of this post - REFLECTION! Everyone's fav part of PP what with the Gibb's cycle, how can we not πŸ˜† not no, my brain is not str enough for that, you're just gonna get a very chaotic ver of that today πŸ™ƒπŸ€‘πŸ˜š

#1 Don't skimp on sleep - pretty sure this was one of my tips for incoming MD2, but hey, "do as I preach, no as I do"...but no seriously, I had a slap in the face wake up moment just this week. Day 1 bedtime procrastination, just under 6hr sleep - could barely focus on what's going on in hosp, felt sick to the stomach all day, headache, just a miserable time and no study done at all. Crashed at 9pm, but got really good sleep and following day super motivated, bright as a daisy, everything just so much better. Don't think I ever experienced such a stark contrast before, but glad I did b/c I'm 200% more motivated to stick to a regular sleep routine regardless of when I "have to" wake up the next day for placement.

#2 even if you're not studying the same content, studying w a friend next to you can do wonders for your motivation - it's like they say, sometimes it's hard to find motivation but motivation finds you. When I'm sitting next to a friend who's also studying, doesn't matter if I whinge or not, I will continue watching that bloody lecture or read that 30pg guideline (jokes I only read the summary and conclusions and skim the middle bit XD)

#3 scheduling guilt-free breaks indulging in hobbies (and if that's watching a TV show or movie, that's totally fine too, as long as it's something you actually wanna watch and not watching for the sake of watching and if you don't know what the latter means, I envy you) - beats doom scrolling and watching tiktok or YouTube or insta reels for the sake of watching it every time. Not saying there isn't a time for looking at those reels, but if watching a few reels turns into hours, we have a problem man. At least if you overindulged in something you actually wanna do, you wouldn't feel empty afterwards.

3 points, that's pretty good, think imma just end it here lol
